Receiving a proposal rejection is dispiriting, but the reality is that most proposals are rejected, and every successful scientist has received numerous rejection notices. Carefully interpreting proposal reviews and responding to them effectively can drastically increase the likelihood of future funding success!

We are excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Ganesh Balakrishnan, as the new Director of NM EPSCoR, effective March 1. Ganesh Balakrishnan succeeds Dr. Bill Michener, who will retire this year and has served in the role since 2007.

At Meet a Scientist events, six "Scientist Stations" are spaced throughout the museum and guests of all ages interact with real-world STEM professionals, ask questions, and take part in one or more activities. 

On behalf of the University of Arizona we would like to invite you and your faculty to the Western Region DEPSCoR Day. The event is presented by the Department of Defense and will be hosted at the University of Arizona in Tucson Arizona on February 24, 2022. Leadership from the Basic Research Office in the Office of the Secretary of Defense along with Program Officers from the Air Force, Army, and Naval Research labs will participate in the conversation. This year’s Research Symposium was held virtually from November 8 to 12, 2021. The program was topical and hosted a variety of speakers, posters, and awards honoring science, STEM, and research contributions in New Mexico through a space lens.
